Privacy Policy

PathGlot ("we," "us") is a language-learning app. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using PathGlot you agree to these practices.
What we collect
- Account info:email, name, and profile photo from Google or Apple sign-in, or from email/password registration.
- Learning profile:target language, level, goals, and interests you provide during onboarding.
- Progress data:XP, level, quest history, and session activity.
- Conversation transcripts:text logs of your practice sessions, stored so you can review your progress.
- Voice audio:during quests your microphone audio is captured in real time and sent to Google's Gemini AI for language processing. PathGlot does not store this audio on our servers.
- Usage data:session duration, feature interactions, and crash reports.
Payments are handled by Stripe and RevenueCat. We never see or store your card details.
How we use it
- Run the app and personalise your quests and tutor
- Power the AI voice tutor (audio sent to Google Gemini during sessions)
- Process subscriptions via Stripe / RevenueCat
- Send account and subscription emails
- Improve PathGlot using aggregate, anonymised analytics
We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Your rights
- Access:download a copy of your data anytime in Settings, Download my data, or email us.
- Correction:update your profile in app settings at any time.
- Deletion:delete your account and data via Settings → Delete Account, or email us.
- Personalization:turn interest based quests on or off anytime in Settings. You can object to this profiling whenever you like.
- GDPR (EEA/UK):right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data. You may complain to your local supervisory authority.
- CCPA (California):right to know, delete, and opt out of sale (we don't sell data).
Other details
- Cookies:used only for session auth (Supabase) and preferences. No ad tracking.
- Children:PathGlot is not for users under 13 (16 in the EEA). We delete data from underage users on request.
- Security:data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest via Supabase.
- Retention:data is kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of account deletion (except where law requires longer).
- International transfers:your data may be processed on servers outside your country, including in the United States (for example by Google and Supabase). These providers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses to protect it.
- Changes:material changes will be emailed with 30 days' notice.
